From a  historical perspective, this book is fascinating. It was written at the height of the triumphalism around the ascent of the Japanese economy. Even with the challenges the US industry faces, I wonder if we would be so ready to take the Japanese lessons today.

What I found most compelling about this pdf book is that China’s auto industry (even with its huge growth) faces a similar predicament. Well worth reviewing just for this reason alone.
